Peace of Mind and The Godfathers
Anyway, just thought I'd share that. Sorry for the lack of postings lately but hey it seems like I've been getting a number of visitors who have been choosing the 'Not Like' option for some odd reason. It's all good though.
On a happier note, I probably had the 2nd best date with the ladyfriend this past Friday. We first had breakfast at Cora's Breakfast & Lunch. I had this cinnamon toast looking thing with some sausages, egg and half a plate full of fruits (Note: I ate my first kiwi fruit and I am officially not a fan of it). After that, I took her to Riverwood Conservancy formerly known as Mississauga Garden Park. It's an amazing place to just look and admire nature. It kinda sucked because we were in nice clothing and you really need to wear something comfortable. We saw a number of wildlife from squirrels to chipmunks to a random doe we saw, which my girl acknowledged as "Bambi's mother"...yeah I know she died in the movie, but whatever, I'll give her that one. After that we went to No Frills to do my groceries and that whole experience made me realize how much I enjoy doing simple things with her. We finished in record time and we never missed an item on the list my mom gave me. Our last destination in Mississauga was at Kariya Park. The park honours the twin-city relationship between Mississauga and Kariya, Japan. I'll post pictures later so you guys can see the 'Japanese' tough to the park. We almost got attacked my a flock of Canadian Geese and I fully blame my girl for wearing a hot pink shirt that day because they looked like they were about to attack her. In that same day, we went downtown Toronto for an art exhibit at George Brown College. It wasn't my type of setting only because people seemed so sophisticated and whatnot. But yeah, we enjoyed ourselves and the food that was served there...hmmmmmm roast beef sandwich and smoked cheese. To end the night off we watched "He's Just Not That Into You" and man that movie is jokes. I didn't finish it and I've yet to borrow it from my girl to see what happens in the end. Definitely recommend that. Overall, I loved that day. It's definitely worth planning all of that.
Saturday night, I went to All Stars for some chicken wings. A couple of the Godfathers were there w/ their ladyfriends, the rest were MIA because they were at a graduation. But yeah, had a good time meeting Christina (you know who you are) and she's really nice to Flow, but hey I still have to run her through the screening process. I thought I would order just the regular Honey & Garlic flavoured wings but I thought I wanted to try something new (the ladyfriend insists that I try new things). I had what they called over there the 'Pandora's Box' and man, it's probably my 2nd favourite flavour after Honey & Garlic. The taste of it is pretty much like H&G but it had a nice spicy kick to it which is not too bad for me. We ended up reaching the graduation so some of the Godfathers were there (Rolando and VIP was still MIA) and I saw my girl along with our other friends. Overall a goodnight to spend with everyone. I couldn't miss another chill session because I've been MIA from all the other functions for the past week. Had to make this up to them.
You might be wondering who The Godfathers are. Funny thing is they don't know they're the Godfathers, I kinda just made it up today and it just stuck. Well it consists of MC, Flow, Franco, VIP, Rolando, Big K, AD3 and me. Just a bunch of us guys who grew up together and have created bonds throughout the years. There's a number of non-members who are affiliations but we'll discuss that later.
Sunday morning I went to the dentist with the family and I just had a filling done. Initially I thought I would've had my teeth cleaned but we didn't have much time because we got there at 10:30AM and we left at 1:00PM. So next time that's probably what I'm goin' to get done. We had Harvey's after, nothing too special about that. Sunday was just a beautiful day but it just felt nice being lazy and lying around. It was an okay Father's Day as well, but whatever it's just one of the marketing schemes that our society has embraced.
It's 11:19PM right now, I'm not sure what time I started posting because my friend gave me a call saying that they had broken up with their significant other. I don't want to go into too many details but I earnestly believe that they have done the best thing for them and their relationship. They have been talking to a 'potential' so the whole situation for them right now is pretty much bitter sweet.
So that's pretty much all for now. I'll post up pictures of our adventure and I'll try to upload more things in the future.
Until then, peace mofos.

Rise from the Ashes
In other news, I really want to get into Adobe's Creative Suite. I just find that it's such a good asset to have in today's workplace. Doesn't matter what field you're in, Photoshop/Illustrator users are on high demand. If you guys know of any good books (no not a 'Photoshop for Dummies' book), send it over my way.
I realized that I would not be able to get to where I am right now without my family, friends and God. Just had to plug that in.
Until then, God bless and Peace out mofos

In other news, what's up with the nude/scandalous celebrity photos showing up lately? First, it was that Miss California chick, then Cassie and now Rihanna. I dunno, just an observation of mine I suppose. Don't get me wrong, they are very attractive in more ways than one, but man, I'm just not feelin' the whole 'invasion of privacy' issue. Obviously those pictures were meant for someone else. Guess a person's word of honour isn't worth much these days.
Feelin' tired even though I only had a short day at work. I have decided to get myself a DSi along with an Acekard 2i to download my games. I'll be trading in my DS for a $65 credit (and trust my DS is worth that much since the top screen is a bit flimsy) towards a brand new DSi. I thought of getting either a DSi, a DSLR, an Xbox 360 or an acoustic guitar for my birthday, and I think I might get 2 out of the 4 (one of them being the DSi).
Life is just amazing these days. And speaking of which, I just wanted to make an announcement that I'll be starting my new job either on the 19th or 25th. I'll be working the new Fine Arts Building for George Brown College Continuing Education. As for the duties that I'll be doing...not to sure, but I know I'll be taking care of the operation of the building. And no, I don't know what my position is either. All I know is that I'm getting paid more and doing a lot less than my previous job. Can't knock me down for that. :D
Well I'm getting tired, sorry but there's no Big Up Monday until next week when it's Victoria Day in Canada. I might be getting the condo to myself. Not sure, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Party? Maybe a small get together with the friends. Sleepover? Most likely - if they feel like it.
Anyway, this is it for now. Goodnight mofos. Peace. Oh btw, here's today's Babe of the Day:...errr I'm kind of frustrated because I can't find a decent and beautiful looking BOTD. Next time.

BIG UP MONDAY - May 4th Edition
To start things off, I have been watching a number of movies here and there. Some I've watched 5 or 10 times in my life, while others I just recently discovered through my dad (he's a real movie junkie and movies are probably the biggest thing we have in common). With that said, I thought I'd point out some of the movies I've watched recently.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Now, I've been a big fan of X-Men as long as I can remember and let me just say that this movie was a bit of an upset for someone like me. As a movie straying away from the X-Men Trilogy, it could've potentially done well but there was just a lack of depth in the story line and characters. Most of the times, I found myself thinking, "WTF is going on here?! That's not what happened!" and I honestly felt they let down a lot of the hardcore X-Men fans out there. Now, I don't want to give away too much of the movie especially to those who haven't seen it, but half of the skills/powers that Deadpool had in the movie, he didn't even have in the comic books that I read. Anyway, still a good effort for pulling off a new twist with the Wolverine story line. I, unfortunately, will only give it a 2.5/5. It would've been a 3, if I hadn't seen the bootleg version. By the way, which ending did you see after the first set of credits?
Forever Strong
The Wood
Well the whole movie is basically about a bunch of guys growing up in 'The Wood' (aka. Inglewood, California) facing what regular teenagers face this time and age - girls, girls, girls. And also about life in general and growing up to be a man. I don't think this movie could be any bettera and to top it all of, it was laced with an outstanding soundtrack (from Ahmad's 'Back In The Day Remix to Whodini to R. Kelly to Luther Vandross' If This World Were Mine'). I will give this a 6/5, nuff said.
Well, this whole month there are just too many things I'm looking forward to in theatres. Here's what they are:
- Star Trek (2009) - It has Spock and it's directed by McG. You say 'Who's McG?!', I say get out of here.
- Angels & Demons - A very controversial film, I might watch it just for the heck of watching it
- The Brothers Bloom - I just have a huge crush on Rachel Weisz
- Terminator Salvation - Coming out on May 21st, 2009, which is on my 23rd birthday. Now you know where I'm going to be on that day.
- Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian - First movie was surprisingly funny and brilliant. It was only a matter of time before a second movie came out.
- Drag Me to Hell - Scared the f*ck out of me. Gypsies are scary. Lesson learned from watching the trailer 'Be nice to everyone...especially to old ladies that have poor dental hygiene.'
- Disney's Up - Boy scouts are the sh*t for the summer.
Second on today's Big Up Monday list - Video Games. If I haven't posted yet how much of a nerd I am when it comes to video games, then I'm just going to say it now - I'm a nerd when it comes to videos games.
Lately, I haven't really been involved in anything hardcore. Except maybe Pokemon. I put Killzone 2 on hiatus (even though I bought the 2 new maps they had available for download). I'm currently putting in a lot of hours on my DS and evolving all the Pokemons that I have. I know I sound like a loser right now, but if I'm going to be pationate about anything, it's going to be either about video games or art. In this case, it's about video games.
I'v recently downloaded a couple of DS games as well:
- Super Robot Taisen OG Sage: Endless Frontier - Just literally downloaded it today, I haven't immersed myself too much into it. But it looks like there are 36DDs on the lady characters.
- Rhythm Heaven - I haven't played it but the lady friend says that it's fun. I think it's the game where they had Beyonce in the commercial.
- Grand Theft Auto : Chinatown Wars - The best game on the DS.
- Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure - What more can you ask for when you can play as a senior citizen who wears a magical fedora that causes him to turn 30 years younger and has a cane that can shoot bullets?
- Pokemon Platinum - Nuff said.
- Gardening Mama -From the guys who brought you Cooking Mama, they just couldn't stop at the kitchen and now they've taken your garden by storm. Haven't played it only because I think the game file is hands-off territory laid out by the lady friend.
For those of you wondering, "How does he have so many games?" To answer that, no I do not buy my games, I just download DS ROMS for free. I have not spent a single penny on a DS video game since I first bought my DS console. Get at me if you are interested in free DS games.
As for the PS3 console, like I said, I have put that on hiatus. I'm not home most of the times, so I don't have the time to play on my PS3. However, I do download a couple of demos and downloadable content here and there. I'm currently updated on all the available Little Big Planet costumes. Most recent download is the Egyptian themed costumes. Here's an example of some of the costumes which I currently have (these are kind of old). One of my favourite packs.
I have my eyes set out on a couple of games coming out on the PS3 within this month and I've categorized them into Rent First, Must Have and Rent First then (if amazing) Must Have:
Must Have
- inFamous - It's a must have because my brother is going buy it and will therefore end up in my collection. That and I think this will be another open-world game similar to GTA4.
- Terminator Salvation - Just want to try out the whole co-op portion of the game
- Bionic Commando - A complete remake from the old school Bionic Commando, want to try out the new grab and go gameplay they have going on.
- UFC 2009 Undisputed - If this game is easy to pick up then for sure I'm going to get it. The demo was hard to get around.
- Cross Edge - A crazy concept these Japanese makers came up with of putting characters together from different games and creating a potential classic RPG game.
- Damnation - If the graphics are not half bad and the whole 'vertical' gameplay hits the right note then this game will be a must have for me.
Here is today's Babe of the Day - Jamie Chung (the only thing worth watching from the Dragonball Evolution movie). I had to put 2 pictures because one would not do her beauty any justice.
P.M.
OH SNAP! And I almost forgot, Happy Birthday to my Mom. I don't tell her that I love her, but I love her.

No Title
Well last night I cleaned up my closet and decided to throw out some things that I didn't need. While I was cleaning up, I found a couple of things which gave me a feeling of nostalgia:
- 20+ issues of Maxim, still in mint condition (consists of mainly brunettes who have graced their covers)
- a number of comics books - I'll post the titles later on
- some pictures I've had from way back in the day (middle school & high school era)
- a box full of little gifts from my 'ladyfriend'
- a number of PC games I used play - can you say World of Warcraft?
Anyway, my closet looks clean...for now. I still have to sort out my shoe boxes tomorrow. I'll give an update later on. Take care for now.
P.M.
Here's for the ladyfriend - I'm not sure if you know my blog exists and I don't know if you keep up with it...but I just wanted to say that I love you. Cooooooool!

Best Of Both Worlds
***
Movie was well worth it. As I expected, way better than DB:E by a land slide. I have to admit as soon as I got home I searched the Hoedown Throwdown video on Youtube. I haven't found a worthwhile link to post on this blog, but I will find it. My cousin actually kept on noticing Miley Cyrus' buck teeth more than the movie. What are kids being taught these days?? Anyway, it was well worth the $20 I spent. I'll put up a post about upcoming movies either on the weekend or next week. Gotta rest up tonight, long drive to Hamilton tomorrow. Take care citizens.
P.S. I tried looking for a picture of Mylie Cyrus/Hannah Montana, but the internet is not kind to her. Well, here's a picture of Jordana Brewster to make up for it.

Vertigo
I'm not gonna lie, I felt my 'swagger' come back to life and I suddenly found myself walking a different way (but I don't take that kinda ish into my head). Also, I gave myself a nice clean shave to top it all off. Man, good weather definitely puts me in a good mood!
Sadly, I can't say the same for my mom. I had to pick her up from work (which is a long ass drive from Mississauga to Toronto) because her Vertigo kicked in.
Vertigo (from the Latin vertigin-, vertigo, "dizziness," originally "a whirling or spinning movement," from vertere "to turn") is a specific type of dizziness, a major symptom of a balance disorder. It is the sensation of spinning or swaying while the body is actually stationary with respect to the surroundings. The effects of vertigo may be slight. It can cause nausea and vomiting and, in severe cases, it may give rise to difficulties with standing and walking. Vertigo is usually associated with a problem in the inner ear balance mechanisms (vestibular system), in the syndrome and Meniere's disease. It kills me to see my mom like this because she's probably one of the strongest people I know. I wouldn't be surprised if I developed this in the future simply because I know that it runs in my family. Anyway, I just wanted to ask that whoever reads this post, if you could please pray for her and hope she gets better. Thanks and much love.

Black Blazer
My ride doesn't have a name yet. I usually name them after an animal. I used to have this white Pontiac (forgot the model) way back when I started driving (circa 2004) and I decided to call it the White Phoenix. The story behind to that name was the car itself was from the junkyard. It only had the body with the wheels, but the engine wasn't even there. When it was all fixed up, the Phoenix was reborn. Legend has it that even though the Phoenix has a life-cycle of 500-1000 years, when it dies, another Phoenix egg is produced from its ashes. SICKKKKK.
Anyway, I'm still thinking up of what animal I should dub this truck. I've gotten bull and bear, I thought about stallion but that sounded too much like a Mustang.

BIG UP MONDAY - April 20th Edition
First things first. Woah! It's been way too long since my last post up in here. I actually forgot my password and had to go through the process of retrieving. Much easier than expected, way easier than a college student's password change :p.
Last time I wrote on here, I wasn't feelin' too happy about life. Just to tell you, I've been much happier these days and things could not get any better. :) I gotta thank my girl Eileen for cheering me up with her kind words. Congrats to her once again for getting into law school. She's going to be my lawyer if I get into any trouble in the future.
I've been spending a lot of time with my Chevy Blazer. It's not what you'd expect me to drive since I'm Filipino, but I like trucks and 4x4's. It's bigger than most vehicles and it has that aggressive feel to it. I recently put on much bigger tires, just to add some height to the truck. I (accidentally) fixed my horn while driving home with my brother. And yes I did my happy dance while driving.

I downloaded a bunch of albums from the past couple of weeks. I was bored and I need to feed my music crave. (I apologize for those who are against stealing/piracy/illegal file sharing...but I don't really care :D)
Here's a list of what I've downloaded. Some are old, some are new, some you may not even heard of and some you didn't even think that I would even bother listening to.
Gavin Degraw Collection - Chariot, Gavin Degraw, Free
http://www.gavindegraw.com/
I waited for this guy's upcoming albums right after 'Chariot' since 2003 and he didn't come up with a new album until 2008 (self-titled album). He recently released an album this past March, Free. Fans of the hit TV show 'One Tree Hill' know this guy's music is a must-have.
Aubrey 'Drake' Graham Collection (Mixtapes) - Comeback Season, So Far Gone, So Far Gone (Chopped & Screwed Version by DJ Mr. Rogers).
http://www.thisisdrake.com/
I really didn't like this guy much in Degrassi...until he got shot and was wheelchair bound. Anyway, this kid is insane. He can spit like crazy and sing like he's been doin' it more than acting. I kind of prefer his So Far Gone Mixtape over the Chopped & Screwed Version, but that's only 'cause I haven't heard all of it. He's been collaborating with Lil' Wayne a lot, so obviously Drake's new album will probably be produced by Weezy as well.
Keri Hilson - In A Perfect World
http://www.kerihilsonmusic.com/
This album just blew me away. After hearing her with Timbaland on his last album, I knew this girl was going to be something big. Just listen to her song with Kanye and Ne-Yo 'Knock You Down' and I guarantee you'll have it on repeat for the whole week. I would buy this if I couldn't find a downloadable version.
Recent R&B Album Downloads
Just goin' to do a quick rundown on these albums (I haven't listened to them enough).
- The Dream - Love Vs. Money, one of my most anticipated albums of 2009. Nuff said.
- Jesse McCartney - Departure: Recharged, after doing a couple of pop albums, he decided to do an R&B album to reinvent himself. I applaud him for his effort. Much better than that country music crossover by Jessica Simpson (I'm just sayin)
- Usher - Here I Stand, I'm not going to say this album bombed but it didn't do as well as his previous album 'Confessions'. Still worth a download. Wouldn't buy.
- Musiq Soulchild - Onmyradio, I haven't really listened to the whole album but from what I've heard so far, he's tried to keep up with the times and tried to 'upgrade' his style. I still prefer the old Musiq - Juslisen era.
- Bobby Valentino - The Rebirth, don't be fooled by the crappy album cover, it's like judging a book by it's cover. I think his third album shows his true potential and versatility as an artist.
- J. Holiday - Round 2, can't say much because I haven't heard it at all since I downloaded it
Recent Hip Hop/Rap Album Downloads
Again, a quick rundown on these albums.
- Flo Rida - R.O.O.T.S., when I heard his track 'Sugar' ft. Wynter and how he sampled Eiffel 65's 'Blue Da Ba Dee', I couldn't help but bump my head. I didn't even know you could sample that song, but hey it is Flo Rida we're talking about here. I'm just going to say that I like it better than his previous album.
- Nelly - Brass Knuckles, I never knew I'd still be a Nelly fan even after I thought how much of a failure he was after his 2 Disc (separate) album 'Sweat' and 'Suit'. I think I just downloaded this song because of his single 'Body On Me' ft. Akon & Ashanti, which to me is a club banger, bed banger, you know...
- Kardinal Offishal - Not 4 Sale, straight up his best album up to date. Some might say he's a sell out because he's under Konvict Music but K.O.'s just tryin to extend his horizons by signing on to a major label.
Sh*t That Blew My Mind
- Naturally 7 - Wall Of Sound, I have been a fan of these guys since 2000. When I found out that they had no instruments in their 'band', I knew it only meant 2 things...beatboxing and acapella. Did you hear that? No that wasn't a gorilla, that's just their rendition of Phil Collin's 'Feel It' (In The Air Tonight).
http://www.n7house.de/ - Ebrahim - Goldrush, supposedly only 3000 copies have been sold to the public and I'm just one of the few lucky ones who found a download link. This man is too crazy. Give him a mic and he can do magic. Oh and he's Canadian too. :D
http://www.eebmusic.com/ - Jupiter Rising - The Quiet Hype, I saw this group's video inside American Eagle. After that, it was one of those 'love at first beat' relationships. Must have for those who need somethin' fresh to listen to.
http://www.jupiterrisingmusic.net/ - Brutha - Brutha, I thought these dudes would be another B2K wannabe group but damn, I think they could contend as the next Boyz II Men. It's a huge statement for me to make, but they are big. I haven't heard all their songs but the first 2 tracks made me an official fan.
Stuff I Don't Normally Listen To
- Colbie Caillat - Coco, I just wanted to download it because I thought she was pretty...that and I think that her song Bubbly is catchy, especially the acoustic version.
- Kate Voegele - Don't Look Away, smokin hot and very talented, I literally fell in love with KV when she was still on One Tree Hill as Mia Catalano. She kind of looks like Vanessa Carlton, but she's 10X better.
http://www.katevoegele.com/ - Lady Gaga - The Fame, she has very catchy songs. That's all.
Kid Cudi Collection - A Kid Named Cudi, The Anthem (The Best of Kid Cudi)
http://www.kidcudi.com/
Hip Hop Heavy Hitters
- Kanye West - LVs & Autotune, just a couple of songs he released here and there. And like the album title says, it is heavily influenced with Autotune. Some of the songs I haven't heard of, others I've heard from his other mixtapes - which is pretty whack. Still a good download if you're a Kanye fan.
- Jay-Z - A Prelude to Blueprint 3, a couple of songs he produced after Kingdom Come and American Gangster. Not sure if people still want a new album from him, he's better off releasing mixtapes and doing collabos.
- Nas - Untitled Album, the Untitled Nas album was supposed to be called, N*****, had a lot of positive and negative feedbacks about it. Heck, this album wasn't supposed to be released anyway, but you gotta give it to him for sticking to the man. A must have for those who heard 'Hip Hop Is Dead'.
Well there you have it, Big Up Monday has officially ended. Damn, this is probably the longest post I have had. But there'll be more from the weeks to come. My passion for blogging has jump started once again. Somehow I have this need to blog about my life and my passion, hopefully you can learn a little somethin about me from my posts. Until next time. Take it easy.
P.S. Don't mind the spelling/grammatical errors, I was tired writing this :p

One Week
I've been on Facebook tryin' to work the new layout...and it's not working for me. It resembles Twitter way too much and I don't even have an account. Anyway, MSN Messenger is pretty much the same case but no one goes on that anymore. It's becoming extinct like ICQ (though I know some people still use it).
I went to a party this past weekend and I must say it was pretty sick. The Insanes have thrown yet another party, big or small venue, if they say it's a party...it's a party. Happy Birthday to A&W, you probably won't be reading this, but just wanted to give you guys a shout out. I feel blessed to know people like them, good company and amazing family, nothing bad I could say about them.
***
Recently, I've been thinking about where my life is going and it's sad for me to say/admit that I have no idea where I'm heading. I'm just at that point where I'm at a major crossroad in my life and that I have no idea which path to take because the choice I make will change how my life is in the future. It's killin' me at this point. My parent's have asked me when am I going to graduate and I can't even give them an honest answer. Both my grandmas ask me the same thing on a weekly basis and it just irritates me because I feel like I'm the biggest disappointment in the family. And it's because of this that I feel disconnected with everyone who I care about.
I know I'm not going to stay long at my current job - no matter how amazing it pays or how much room there is to excel, I just can't see my self working my way up the corporate ladder. I'm not complaining or bitching about my life, just frustrated with myself I guess. I always thought that I was in control and that I had everything all figured out. Only thing I can do now is move forward, take the cards I'm dealt with and hope each day gets better :)
P.M.
